Data minimization
Sphere is built to collect the minimum data needed to run your practice, score your work, and improve the product. We do not collect data without a clear, justified purpose, and we run a periodic internal audit of every field we store against that principle.
What we collect
- Your practice work — the prompts you write, the outputs you submit, and the scores the grader returns. This is what powers your progress, fluency radar, and certifications.
- Your profile & onboarding answers — role, goals, and the professional context you choose to share, used to personalize practices and the companion.
- Account & membership basics — your email and Sphere membership tier, used to sign you in and grant access.
What we deliberately avoid
Sphere intentionally does not collect high-risk personal data. We do not store government IDs, dates of birth, phone numbers, street addresses, payment card numbers, or biometric data.
How your work is used
Your practice work is used inside Sphere to score and personalize your experience. Any use of member work to improve our own products is gated on your explicit training-data consent, and free-text you write is anonymized (personal and firm names stripped, identifiers replaced) before it feeds any internal corpus. If you opt out, your data is excluded at read time on every pass.
Your rights
You can review and update the professional context on your profile, change your training-data consent, and request export or deletion of your data at any time by contacting us. For the full privacy terms, see our Privacy Notice.
